Late Returns
Your financial responsibility:
- You are financially responsible for all ILL materials from the time you pick them up until the time they are returned.
- If the material is lost or damaged while in your possession, you must pay any repair, replacement, or processing fees which the lending library charges.
Overdue notices:
- As a courtesy, our ILL Office will e-mail or mail any overdue notices.
Suspension of ILL and Library privileges:
- Students and FH employees: If the materials are not returned within one week of the date of overdue notices, ILL and library privileges will be suspended.
- Faculty and staff: If the materials are not returned within one week of the date of overdue notices, ILL privileges will be suspended. When unreturned material is 3 weeks overdue, library privileges will also be suspended.
Your cost for unreturned ILL materials:
- When our ILL Office suspends your ILL privileges, we will also request a replacement cost invoice from the lending library. These charges will be passed along to the person who has the overdue item(s).
- Please be aware that the costs average from $60-$100 per item.
Conditions for reinstatement of ILL and library privileges:
- The patron must return all overdue items AND speak to an ILL staff member in person.
- Distance education students may speak to an ILL staff member by phone.
